  • 19 JUN: Fayetteville - The president of the Loners motorcycle club, we work together and good friend, has requested a military vehicle display at the up coming veterans poker run on June 19th in NW Arkansas. http://www.nwavetsrun.com/index.html Last year about 200 showed with this year being larger. Look at pictures.  This IS NOT the motorcycle group that was at the VA home last year before the RED BALL. The Loners are very active at the VA Home all year long. This poker run raises money for the vets at the home. The money does not go to the home but to buy items the staff says the vets need personally. ext.. razors, shirts, slippers .....personal items they can not afford along with items like bingo games, puzzles.... The Loners also visit the home for bingo games and assist with other activities.  The Army reserve will try and have a HUMMER there but they would like to see if anyone else would like to bring their MV for display. You can also run the poker run if you want. About 100 miles thru NWA. Any questions contact Ron Naef: 479-236-0099 or mightybaldone@msn.com

  • 04 Jul:  Walk of Flags (Morrilton)  Over 400 flags will be on display, each one honoring a veteran - in observance of Independence Day

  • 27 Jun:  The event will be held Sunday June 27 at 6:30 PM in Bentonville.  The event will not be on the town square this year, but is moved to a new city park a few blocks away.  I have been told that the new city park has a great place to display the vehicles near the stage area and we won't be as cramped for space for display as we were last year.  It is a patriotic event with top quality music, singing, free food, and quest speakers.  Honoring our veterans and celebrating our freedom and independence is what this event is about.  If you are interested / available let me now ASAP and I will organize the MV display.
    camera_dan@hotmail.com

Celebrate America in (Bentonville) Previous year's celebration have included super music, Miss Arkansas, Air National Guard flyover, US Representatives, free food, etc.  I am sure the Governor will be invited.  This is a musical event held on the Bentonville town square.  I can honestly promise you that you have never heard better quality patriotic music and singing.  Previous events have drawn crowds of 5,000.  This is a great opportunity to both display our HMV as well as a quality event worth attending.  Mark you calendars now. If you are bringing a vehicle, try to have the vehicle at the square in Bentonville no later than 3PM.  A bit before that would be OK.  Any later and it might be getting crowded and busy around the square and become difficult to get your vehicle in place.  Bring a lawn chair and sun screen.  If your vehicle is "show quality", you might want to bring a "KEEP OFF" sign or two to place on the seats or on the vehicle.  Generally, this won't be a problem, but there might be a curious kid or two around.  DIRECTIONS:  The exit on I-540 that you need to take is marked EXIT 86.  Let me know if you need any specific directions.  If you get lost, just ask directions to the square in down town Bentonville.  Contact Jerome in Fayetteville if you want to convoy from Fayetteville with he and Lewis.  Keep my cell phone number handy and call me if you get lost.
Weather:  rain will cancel the event.  If the event is cancelled, we should know by Saturday.  Email me your phone number ASAP so I can make contact with you if the event is cancelled.   Patriotism will be flowing.  This is not a picnic or party.  A cast of over 100 will be presenting a program that will remind you of the price paid for our liberty and the real value of our independence.  You will remember this event!  Bring a friend!

  • 24 Jul: Potluck/Meeting hosted by Jerome & Marsha Jones Casey and Lewis & Molly Anderson (Greenland - near Fayetteville - at the Baptist Ford Community Church) Directions:  From Hwy. 540 take Exit 58 and turn East (watch your speed from here to the church!!!)  If you were north-bound turn right.  If you were south bound - turn left and continue under the bridge.  Follow West Wilson Street (you're on it) down the hill, over the rail road tracks to the 4-way stop light.  When stopped at the light you'll be directly across from the Greenland School.  Turn south on South Main Ave (Hwy 71) - stay in the right hand lane.  Hwy 71 parallels the rail road tracks -  they should be on your right.  Head south on 71 until you approach a sweeping left-hand curve.  You'll see a small road that goes straight off 71 - take this road (it parallels the rail road tracks).  You'll see a sign for Baptist Ford Community Church.  This is kind of a bumpy, concrete road.  Follow it over the iron bridge to the church.  If you miss this turn don't panic - the road you need to be on comes back into Hwy. 71.  Just make a hard right turn on to it and you'll see the church on your left.  Any questions, problems or anything call Marsha's mobile #479.841.1489 or Jerome's mobile #479.409.9977  As for the important stuff (food) the meal will be hotdogs and hamburgers.  Jerome Casey

  • 09-10 Oct:  (LR AFB, Jacksonville, AR)  I'm currently coordinating with the Little Rock Air Force Base for historic MVs for static display during their open house this year.  At the moment they are asking for 5 to 6 vehicles (that number can increase or decrease as time nears).  Presently we have 2 so far.  The vehicles will need to stay the duration of the weekend and of course there will be security.  They will need to be staged on Oct 7th or 8th between 0800 to 1630.  I'm thinking of possibly putting together a convoy to the air base on one of those days.  It will depend on scheduling.  Those that participate are welcomed to sell any memorabilia or hand out club info.  They are also requesting that the participants driving onto base that do not have current military ID to submit their full name and driver's license # so that base security can do a quick background check so there won't be any issues at the gate.
I would like those that are interested in participating to send me an email with your name and what vehicle(s) you are bringing.  I will then forward 2 email addresses to the participants of the POCs that you will need to send your full name and DL # to.  That way I do not have to deal with your sensitive info.  If there are any questions feel free to email me or call.
    Thank you.
